The Loaves & Fishes food ministry relies heavily on your donations of food. Food can be dropped off at the Food Distribution Center at 509 South Lexington Avenue 24 hours a day. We have a drop box on the parking lot side (Maple Avenue side) of the Food Distribution Center which will hold several grocery carts of food. The area is well lighted and visible from Maple Avenue. Staff members are usually available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to assist you with your food donation. If you have more than several grocery cart loads of food, please call (336) 570-4668 to schedule a delivery time. If delivery is not possible, please call to set up a date and time for us to come pick up your food donation.

We accept any edible food except that which has not been processed commercially. We have a commercial cooler and a commercial freezer for the proper storage of perishable food items. We accept food that is out of date as long as it is edible.

We can use the following items:

Any nonperishable food in cans, boxes or bags
Perishable food in good condition
Frozen food
Fresh fruits and vegetables in season
Baby formula and food
Toilet paper
Diapers (infant and adult)
Cat and dog food

Loaves & Fishes also relies heavily on monetary donations because we do not receive any government support. We are supported entirely by donations and some money from grants. Please send your check to:

Donate Miscellaneous Items
Persons who need food also sometimes need other items and so we also accept clothes, furniture, toys, etc. These items can be dropped off at the Administrative Office from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call (336) 570-4668 if you have large furniture items that need to be picked up.

Donate a Car
Loaves & Fishes also accepts vehicle donations that are given to clients needing a vehicle at no cost to the client. Please call (336) 570-4668 and talk to the Executive Director concerning the procedure for donating a vehicle.
